september 2012

i seem to have missed the whole of july and august...aaah well.

Well what have i been upto....

1 thoroughly enjoyed the Olympics and watching all the dedicated athletes perform. Thought Team GB did fantastic, what a fab effort by everyone taking part in whatever area. The opening and closing ceremonies were amazing. i cant believe tho that it is now nearly all over . The Para Olympics has been a fabulous success with even more medals... what truly amazing athletes and people there are in this world, they should be on the front pages every day not all the horrendous other things that sick people do.

i have been busy at the Gym im trying to go 3-4 times a week around looking after my family and home and working the weekends. i have so thoroughly enjoyed it, setting myself new targets each week. i have managed to lose 1 stone 10lb so far, and have had the satisfaction of retrieving all the clothes that were resigned to the loft several years ago as they were far to small for my increasing frame. long may it continue :)

The summer holidays did there usual vanishing trick and went by in a flash with me achieving hardly anything. Although i did spend some quality time making some Christmas felt decorations with the boys and baking cakes with them. They were quite happy doing there own thing much of the time. When hubby was off for a couple of days we went on a few shopping trips, we went to Cabot circus and to Primark in Bristol, and to Cribs Causeway and we spent the day at Budleigh Salterton, but most of the time the weather was pretty rubbish. We had no summer holiday or any holiday this year, we are saving like mad for a super special one next year, so this year has been quite frugal. Although middle son did enjoy his well earned school holiday to the isle of wight.

For our anniversary and oldest son's 20th birthday my mum and dad did us a BBQ, my Dad's BBQ's are not a burger or sausage affair, we had 3 types of marinated cooked chicken, we had a massive rolled and herbed pork. we had big tomato beans and his signature Greek aubergine dish that we all get stuffed on before we even have any meat. Wedges and sweet potatoes, and salad and pitta bread...honestly it was fabulous!!!
Hubby's birthday fell in the middle of August and i was working as it was the weekend, so he waited patiently for me to come home from work, and then he opened up his few little cards and presents and we had a bottle of fizz to help wash down our tea and then he had a chocolate birthday cake.

Middle son has started secondary school... it has been quite a week for him and i think we have been through all the emotions these last few days. i  am hoping that he will settle in well, he made new friends already which is always pleasing and hopefully when he starts participating in extra school activities he will make more. Baby son is now in his last year at primary, and for him too its been an adjusting time with not having his older brother in school. i do feel a bit guilty as he has been over shadowed this week by big brother but he is doing well... the school run has been altered obviously and trying to get back into the swing of manic traffic on the roads after 6 weeks of off hasn't been easy....

Today is my only day to myself as everyone is either at work or school. i am going to try and change shopping day to a Thursday i think then it will give me a whole day to just do what i want to do, before the madness of the weekend starts and then the Monday morning catch-up from the weekend commences.

I'm getting a bit pee'd off with work asking me to do overtime... i don't want to do, i don't need to do it and there are hardly enough hours in the day to get everything done that i need to. come 10.30pm i am in bed as i can barely keep my eyes open.

I've been hanging out on pinterest recently pinning wildly ... i'm now writing my pins in a book as i have pinned so many ideas for Christmas and Halloween and they are the next 2 major things on the calendar apart from all the birthdays that are looming ahead.
There are so many projects that i want to try and gifts that i want to make. it really is my favorite time of the year and also needs the greatest organisation as there is so much for me to sort out. i so need to start structuring my days again now that the main holidays are out the way.
