Feeling very Spring like...

Well hasn't today been beautiful. The last 3 days have been warm enough for me to get the washing out on the line and virtually dried which as anyone will know with a house full of males, the washing machine is always on!
I took some pictures of the first sign of spring in our garden...Look!!!!

I have some lovely little daffodils. although on closer inspection it looks like a caterpillar has already spied them and gone over for a nibble!!

I decided to prune the clematis today as it had flung its tendrils all over the poor bush next to it and it did look like it was slowly trying to strangle it, so i lurched to its rescue with my secateurs in hand and with some elaborate snipping and trimming freed the bush and managed to tidy up the clematis in the process.

i had a helping hand or should that be claw with the gardening today, as Minnie the Minx was in a frisky mood and how she managed it i do not know but she was in the bush clawing me every time i pulled a piece of wayward clematis out... She them climbed the tree housing the birdhouse and was spreadeagled with all 4 feet on separate branches trying to peer inside the hole... she did lose her balance and was hanging on by her front claws which did make me giggle and scoff " well it serves you right". Thankfully the birdies are all OK and Minnie did actually get herself out of the tree in a dignified fashion without falling or me having to call the fire brigade.

Minnie the Minx.

Minnie is an awesome mouse catcher as well, nearly every day she brings home something that i have to try and catch and free back into the wild. So far i now have 2 mice, one called Jerry who we have had nearly 3 years now, Marley our beautiful Black cat that went missing caught him and he managed to escape...we found him under the TV unit eventually with a flattened back leg... to cut a long story short his leg fell off and he made a remarkable recovery, so he has his own little cage and is part of the family now :) we also have a new addition which we haven't named yet... he/she also has a bad leg so we have had to keep him/her safe, they both love apples i know that much !!

So i think i may have to pop along to the local garden center soon and choose a few little plants to pop in my hanging baskets, i love the spring, it yields such hope and new beginnings.Everything seems so fresh and new.Right i am off now to have a nice glass of something chilled before i whack the tea on.
